The rumors have proved to be true, and SourceFed shut down this week. Allegedly, Philip DeFranco’s company has been acquired by Group 9 Media, a Discovery backed venture. The other channel involved in this transaction was SeekerDaily which has been rebranded to become the new official YouTube channel of NowThis Entertainment. Group 9 Media also plans to have SourceFed shut down and cease operations. The NowThis Entertainment channel, which was formerly the SeekerDaily YouTube channel has released a video on the channel talking about what changes are coming to channel and what has exactly happened to the old channel.

Throughout the week Philip DeFranco has been absent from YouTube, telling his fans that he was taking a break to reevaluate some “personal and business stuff”. Through the grapevine, we have heard that Philip has sold off part of his company to Group 9 Media who made the executive decision to have SourceFed shut down. We believe that they made this decision based on the channel’s declining popularity and viewership. The show has gone through many different iterations and different hosts that have left the show. The channel has struggled to maintain a solid footed reputation and fans claim that the SourceFed channel is always undergoing massive change.
Lately, there have also been rumors of widespread layoffs for SourceFed, its hosts, writers, and video producers. These were not rumors in fact and all SourceFed Studios assets, including SourceFed NERD have ceased operations. The company decided to commemorate the brand by getting all of the old hosts together to produce one last episode of “Table Talk”.
